As part of my Computer Systems Engineering studies at Universidad Fidélitas, I recently joined the WordPress Credits program and I am currently going through the onboarding process. One of my first activities was creating my personal WordPress website. I chose WordPress.com because it provides a simple way to create and host a website while allowing me to focus on learning how WordPress works.
During the setup process, I created and customized my website with information about my background, interests, and experience. One of the challenges was getting familiar with the WordPress editor and understanding how blocks, pages, posts, categories, and the different customization options work. Since this is my first experience working more closely with WordPress, I am still learning how the platform is organized and how its different features work together.
So far, this experience has helped me understand how WordPress can be used to create and manage web content without having to build everything from scratch. As a Computer Systems Engineering student, I find it interesting to explore WordPress, open-source technologies, and a different approach to web development. I am still at the beginning of the onboarding process, so I look forward to learning more, contributing to the WordPress community, and continuing to improve my website as I progress through the WordPress Credits program.
